Mason Mount, midfielder for Chelsea, has reportedly turned down a transfer offer from Liverpool, as he is now rumored to be more inclined towards a potential move to Manchester United for the upcoming season and to help the team in the Champions League.
Despite not having his best performance this season, Mount's talent remains undeniable, making him an attractive player for several clubs. Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag believes that Mount would fit perfectly into his team and the role he is looking to fill, especially as a young alternative to Christian Eriksen.
While Liverpool could have also been an option for Mount, it appears that the player showed no interest in joining Anfield, according to journalist Jorge Picon from Relevo. Even though the offer was financially appealing, the player rejected it.
Manchester United, despite their recent ups and downs, is progressing under Ten Hag's leadership. This could be a deciding factor for Mount to consider the move to Old Trafford more enticing at this time, as the club seems to be in a process of improvement and development.
Mount wants to leave Chelsea to have the opportunity to participate in European competitions, so a decisive factor in rejecting Liverpool's offer is their absence from the Champions League, a competition that Manchester United will be participating in next season.
