Many European clubs have been impressed by many players at the EUROS and some of the biggest performances will likely earn a big move to a club next season that can compete for trophies. Pep Guardiola has been impressed by the Spanish national team, and one key player in mind is now a target for Manchester City this summer ahead of the upcoming season. According to Di Marzio, Man City is pushing hard to sign Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig this summer. The Spanish attacking midfielder has been key for Spain at the EUROS especially during the knockout stages. Manchester City may need a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, and Olmo is seen as the ideal replacement. Olmo is a star for RB Leipzig as well, and the fee would be the release clause he has that is worth just above $60 million. The release clause for Dani Olmo is valid until July 20th, which is this upcoming Saturday. Man City may start to negotiate with the player and RB Leipzig in the next few days.
Olmo spoke ahead of the final against England today, and he was asked about his future. The Spanish attacking midfielder did not want to focus on that and said, "My future? We'll see. We have a final ahead of us. I don't want to get into it. These issues are handled by people I completely trust." The RB Leipzig attacker is likely to leave this summer, especially after an impressive EUROS with Spain.
He started his first game for Spain at the EUROS in the 1-0 win against Albania in the group stage. He assisted Ferran Torres in that match. He also scored in the 4-1 win against Georgia in the Round of 16. He scored and assisted in the quarterfinals of the EUROS against Germany after coming on for the injured Pedri. He scored against France in the semifinals, which resulted in Spain's 2-1 win.
Dani Olmo played 21 matches for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga this past season, starting in 17 of them. He scored four goals and provided five assists for Leipzig in the league. The team placed fourth in the Bundesliga with 65 points and will play in the Champions League next season.
