Lamine Yamal has caused lots of excitement this summer as he is performing so well with Spain at the EUROS. Not only has he been shining for Spain, but he also had a great season with FC Barcelona in his first full professional season as a 16-year-old. Another reason why Yamal has been talked about a lot is because of the viral photo of him as a baby being carried by a young Lionel Messi. The photo is becoming iconic since Messi is one of the greatest players of fall time, and Yamal is set to become one of the best players in the future. Yamal has finally talked about the picture that has the world talking and said, "I have never spoken to Messi about the photo where he was bathing me. I never spoke to him and I hope I can talk to him someday. The truth is, I wasn't even aware at the time that I was with Messi. The first person who told me was my father, and we didn't want to highlight the matter because, in the end, we didn't want those comparisons between me and Leo.”

Yamal was inspired by the Argentine legend, but he does not want to be compared to Messi since he recognizes that the Barcelona legend is one of a kind. Yamal said, "I don't think anyone would be bothered by being compared to the best player in history, but in the end, it diminishes your value because you'll never be like him."

The young Spanish winger proposes a challenge for himself to meet Messi again, but he does so as an opponent. Yamal wants Spain to beat England in the EURO 2024 Final while also wishing for Argentina to beat Colombia in the Copa America final. Yamal said, "I hope Messi wins the Copa America and we win the Euros so I can play against him in the Finalissima."
