US national team dreams big and wants Klopp as their coach, the offer they would make

Jurgen Klopp left Liverpool after taking the job in 2015 and leaving a legacy at one of the biggest football clubs in the world. The German manager is taking a break from football after announcing his plan to relax after leaving the Reds this past season. Klopp is one of the best managers in the world, and many clubs and national teams will try to convince next summer to bring him to their teams. One of them could be the US national team in North America as the World Cup gets closer. Miguel Delaney from the Independent reports that the United States Men's national team has contacted Jurgen Klopp about potentially replacing Gregg Berhalter. Yesterday, the US national team announced that the American coach had been relieved of his duties as the manager of the men's national team after his failure with the USA team in the Copa America USA 2024. Berghalter earned more than $2.2 million per year as the head coach of the US national team, but Klopp expects to earn more than that if given the job. He could be offered up to $3 million per year with the US National team, but equal pay in the US is what prohibits him from earning anywhere near his former salary at Liverpool, which was more than $18 million.

The USA team disappointed a lot of fans at the Copa America this summer as many expected them to at least play in the knockout stages of the competition. They were in Group C with Uruguay, Panama, and Bolivia. Things look to be exciting as they won 2-0 against Bolivia in their first match of the competition. Then they lost 2-1 to Panama, which was a shock for many, but many blame Timothy Weah for the last after a silly red card he received in the 18th minute that changed the game.

USA took the lead in the 22nd minute thanks to a beautiful goal by Folarin Balogun, but Panama equalized in the 26th minute thanks to a goal by Cesar Blackman. In the 83rd minute, Jose Fajardo scored the second for Panama to seal a 2-1 win. They needed to win against Uruguay in the last match of the group stage, but they came short as they lost 1-0 due to a goal by Mathias Olivera in the 66th minute. The fans have been waiting to see Berhalter get fired since the team has not been convincing for the past couple of years, including the 2022 World Cup, but now he is gone.

Will Jurgen Klopp actually join the USMNT?

While the reports suggest that the national team of the United States has contacted Klopp for him to become the new head coach, many believe that he won't accept the job because he is currently on vacation and may think about being the head coach of Germany, or potentially taking a managerial job at a European club. Klopp has coached Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool which are all clubs.
