Hansi Flick and FC Barcelona start their journey together as the preseason training started today at the club's facilities. The German manager will demand a lot from the players ahead of next season and will try to implement his tactics and style of play at FC Barcelona. The training session was missing lots of key players as some were on vacation, and others were still in the biggest international competitions with their respective national teams. A player that many Barcelona fans were surprised yet happy to see is Gavi. The Spanish midfielder was running during the training session, which surprised many because he suffered an ACL injury that post season that kept him out for the second part of the season with FC Barcelona. Gavi suffered an ACL injury in an EURO qualification match against Georgia in November. It is unknown when exactly Gavi will be fully fit enough to play for FC Barcelona again, but many can assume that he will be back very soon. He was diagnosed to be back in 8 to 10 months in November.

Gavi looks to be in great shape as he does the drill switch with lots of energy as if he had never suffered an ACL injury. The Spanish midfielder has been key for the Barcelona team these past two seasons. Gavi, in the past season, played a total of 15 matches across La Liga and the Champions League for FC Barcelona. He scored two goals and provided an assist before getting injured with the Spanish national team in November.

Gavi learned in November that not only would he miss the rest of the season with FC Barcelona, but he would also miss the EUROS. It would've been his first European Championship, and he could've been playing in a final with Spain, who are playing against England in the final this Sunday.

Gavi and the King of Spain

Gavi had a nice interaction with the King of Spain, Felipe VI, and the player was pleased to hear the words the king said to him. Felipe VI told Gavi, "I'll see you in Berlin in the final. You're part of the team, you can't miss it."
