Lionel Messi and the Argentina national team were not supported by Canadian rapper Drake, who put down a $300,000 bet that Canada would defeat Argentina in the Copa America semifinal. Last night, Drake lost $300,000 as Argentina defeated Canada 2-0 with goals from Julian Alvarez and Lionel Messi. The Canadian rapper not only lost money and saw his team lose but he was also mocked on the social media pages of the Argentina national team. The official account of the Argentina national team played Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss track on their Instagram post and added the song title "Not Like Us" to their post-match graphic. The post quickly went viral online, and the fans of Kendrick Lemar and football fans quickly realized that Argentina's social media pages were throwing a shot at Drake for betting against them, even though many understood that the rapper was going to bet on his country winning the vital game of Copa America. Argentina and football fans find it very funny as the team goes on to play another Copa America final.

That wasn't the first time that Argentina defeated Canada in the Copa America this summer. Argentina and Canada faced off in the opener of the tournament since the two were in Group A. The scoreline was also 2-0 in favor of Argentina, but the goalscorers were Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez. Messi provided assistance for Martinez's goal and was vital for Argentina's first goal, as he played a great pass to Alexis Mac Allister, who assisted Alvarez.

Argentina will be playing another major tournament final under Lionel Scaloni. Under Scaloni, they played in the Copa America 2021 final and the 2022 World Cup Final. They won both of those tournaments and now they will go for three trophies in a row.

Argentina's Copa America

Argentina has played five matches at the Copa America so far. They won all of their games apart from one in 90 minutes. They only conceded one goal which was against Ecuador in the Copa America quarterfinals. They have scored a total of eight goals in the tournament so far, with Lautaro Martinez as the goalscorer with four.
