Vinicius Jr. is not seen as the future of the Brazilian national team by some fans, including legends. Vinicius Jr. has shined for Real Madrid this past season and is regarded as one of the best players in the world, but for the Brazilian national team, he has yet to deliver as how many expect him to. Vini is still only 24 years old, but the Brazilian fans demand from him when he plays for Brazil. They want him to be the next face for Brazil after Neymar, but some don't see it. Ronaldo Nazario is a legend who said that Vinicius does not offer as much as Neymar did in the past, and some believe that Ronaldo does not believe in the winger. A Brazilian legend who does believe in Vinicius is Kaka. The former Ballon d'Or winner talks highly about Vinicius and thinks that he will potentially win a Ballon d'Or that he deserves and could be the face Brazil needs to win major tournaments.

Kaka said, "Vini is coming in this direction [to win a Ballon d'Or]. He was the main protagonist of a collective achievement this year for Real Madrid in the Champions League. Thus, he becomes the big favorite, & we, of course, are here cheering for this to happen. I believe that Vini is today the big favorite for this achievement (Ballon d’Or). I hope no one at the Euro Cup steals his protagonism on the world stage [laughs].”

Ronaldo Nazario reportedly said the opposite, saying, "Vinicius is not Joga Bonito. (Laughs) Sorry, the last Joga Bonito is Neymar Jr. Vinicius is a great player, but he doesn't represent the type of game that distinguishes Brazil. The people who watch Brazil expect to see a player with magic and happiness that separate us [from the rest]."

Kaka on Neymar missing in the Brazilian national team

Even though Kaka praised Vinicius Jr. and more young stars in the national team, he still believes that Neymar is a huge piece that is missing in Brazil. Kaka said, "In my opinion, Neymar performed as the best player in the world at various times in his career. I don't think this achievement for Brazil is missing for this reason. This is Brazil's absence, and not due to an absence of talent. I think we have several very promising talents.”
