Liverpool had a few days off last week which allowed coach Jurgen Klopp to work calmly and recover some players who had physical problems. The most demanding stage of the season has started and he needs all the stars of the squad to be fit to play, as the margin for error is getting smaller and smaller.

In addition, he is currently without two important players. One is Wataru Endo, who was called up by the Japan national team for the Asian Cup. And the other is Mohamed Salah, for now with Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations. However, the winger may return earlier than expected for two reasons: the first is because he suffered a muscle injury that will keep him out of, at least, the next two matches of the tournament; and also because his team has not obtained good results in Group B and could be eliminated this Monday if they do not beat Cape Verde.

With this scenario, The Reds will face Bournemouth this Sunday at the Vitality Stadium. There they will try to get a victory that will allow them to stay as leaders of the standings. They have 45 points, 2 more than Manchester City and Arsenal. But the Gunners have played one more game.

Coach Klopp decided that the starting lineup will be: Alisson; Conor Bradley, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil Van Dijk, Joseph Gomez; Harvey Elliott, Alexis MacAllister, Curtis Jones; Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez. Also on the bench will be Caoimhin Kelleher, Adrian, Owen Beck, Jarrell Quansah, Ryan Gravenberch, James McConnell, Bobby Clark, Cody Gakpo and Kaide Gordon.

The Cherries are excited

Bournemouth's performances have been very good lately and that has allowed them to move up several places in the standings. They now have 25 points and, if they get a win against Liverpool, they will be very close to the qualification zone for international tournaments. Coach Andoni Iraola chose this XI: Neto; James Hill, Illua Zabarnyi, Chris Mepham, Maximilain Aarons; Lewis Cook, Ryan Christie, Marcus Tavernier, Justin Kluivert, Luis Sinisterra; Dominic Solanke.
