Breaking news, the $90 million player Manchester United want to get rid of

The Red Devils paid a fortune for him, but his performances were disappointing.

It was a bad decision to buy him.

Manchester United are starting a renewal process. During the last decade the results they obtained have been disappointing and that is why now many things will be different. The arrival of the new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will imply deep changes, especially in the decisions related to soccer, with the aim of becoming again one of the most important teams not only in England, but also in Europe.

These changes include, for example, the remodeling of Old Trafford and the Carrington training ground. But mainly the building of a new squad, getting rid of players who have not lived up to expectations and hiring others in the hope that they will help improve the team.

Donny Van De Beek, Sergio Reguilón, Hannibal Mejbri and Jadon Sancho were the first to go, but they probably won't be the only ones. In fact, reports indicate that coach Erik Ten Hag is "desperate" to sell another player before the January transfer window closes: Anthony Martial. According to the Daily Mail, the French striker has been training for more than a month away from his teammates, as he contracted a sickness bug that damaged his physical condition.

This happened at the same time that speculation about his future began. He has a contract with the club until June 30, 2024 and apparently there will be no negotiations to renew it, so at the end of the season he will become a free agent. That is why many in Manchester United are interested in selling him right now, to at least receive some money for him. However, the player apparently has no intention of leaving in January.

It was a bad deal

Anthony Martial arrived at the English side when he was just 19 years old. His excellent performances at AS Monaco were enough for the Red Devils to pay almost $90 million for him, in the hope that he would become a big star. But things did not turn out as they expected: the striker scored just 90 goals in 317 games at the club and will soon leave without leaving a cent.
