While the transfer window is open right now in Europe's top leagues, most clubs are planning what they will do next summer. At the end of each season is when teams make most moves, letting some players leave and signing others to try to raise the level of the team and compete for major titles.

Osimhen wants to leave Napoli and these English giants could pay $140 million
That seems to be what Liverpool and Manchester City are doing. According to journalist Christian Falk, both clubs are interested in signing a top midfielder holding midfielder next season. The Reds lost Jordan Henderson last summer, while Thiago Alcantara has been unable to play even one game so far due to a hip injury. And the Citizens are close to agreeing the departure of Kalvin Phillips to West Ham United.
With this scenario, the English giants will need such a player and that is why they have thought of a Bayern Munich star: Joshua Kimmich. The German midfielder has been for years a key piece of the team, but that has changed since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel. That seems to be one of the reasons why he has not yet accepted the renewal of his contract, which expires on June 30, 2025.
If this situation remains unresolved, the player could become a free agent at the end of next season. So, to avoid losing him without receiving a cent in return, the German side are considering negotiating his sale in the next transfer window. Manchester City have the advantage that Pep Guardiola already knows Kimmich, having managed him for a year at Bayern Munich, but Liverpool have an ace up their sleeve: their sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke, has good connections with the Bundesliga.

Man United want to get rid of this star and his future could be in Barcelona
According to the specialized website Transfermarkt, Joshua Kimmich has a market value of €75 million (about $81 million). However, the fact that he has one year left on his contract and is almost 30 years old are factors that can reduce that value, so Liverpool and Manchester City will surely be able to negotiate with Bayern Munich to pay less money.
