Manchester United have had problems of all kinds at the start of the 2023/24 season. Off-field conflicts with some players and injuries to several stars of the squad, such as Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw and Sofyan Amrabat, have affected the level of the team, who have shown below expected performances and have lost 3 out of 5 Premier League games.

Two of the absentees are Antony and Jadon Sancho. The Brazilian winger was given a leave of absence while allegations of domestic violence against him by several women are being investigated. And the English player had a quarrel with Erik Ten Hag, after the coach decided not to call him up for the match against Arsenal and Sancho responded with a post on social media.

Without them, the team's attacking alternatives were reduced. Rasmus Hojlund has performed well as a center-forward, which allowed Marcus Rashford to play as a left-winger. However, no one has made merits to be the other winger. Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri are talented players, but they are still very young.

That is why the coach is thinking of using Mason Mount there. The English midfielder could only play two games this season, against Wolverhampton and Tottenham, before suffering a muscle injury that prevented him from being available in recent weeks. He has now returned to training with his teammates and is in with a chance of playing this Saturday against Burnley at Turf Moor Stadium.

Not the only one who is better

In addition to Mason Mount, Ten Hag will also be able to count on Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan midfielder arrived in England this summer from Fiorentina, but has not yet been able to make his debut because of physical problems. Reports indicate that he could be part of the starting lineup this Saturday, joining Casemiro in midfield to try to solve the team's defensive problems.
