This was not a good week for Manchester United. They had achieved an important victory last Sunday vs Everton, but their priority was the Champions League. On Wednesday they traveled to Turkey to face Galatasaray, knowing that they only needed to win. But despite leading 2-0 and then 3-1, they were unable to hold on and drew 3-3, leaving them almost eliminated from the tournament. They will now need a miracle in their final match to advance to the round of 16.

But that's not the only thing that has gone wrong for them lately. This Saturday the Red Devils will face Newcastle in the Premier League. It will be a key match for both teams, as they are very close in the standings (sixth and seventh, respectively) and are competing for the same goals: to reach the Champions League qualification zone and to get closer to leaders Arsenal.

Erik Ten Hag's team were scheduled to fly to Newcastle upon Tyne, in the northeast of England, on Saturday morning. However, that proved impossible. Bad weather and technical problems caused the flight to be cancelled and that forced the club's chiefs to look for an urgent solution.

The only alternative they found was to travel the 106 miles to St. James' Park by coach, a journey that will take three hours, if there are no traffic problems that could delay them further. This may not seem like such a big deal, but it will be a big disadvantage for the Manchester United players to have had to travel so many hours with so little time to recover before kick-off.

It could be a key match

If Manchester United can get a win against Newcastle, they could move closer to the top of the table. This weekend their rivals will have very complicated matches, especially Manchester City, who will face Tottenham at Etihad Stadium.
