After more than a decade as Manchester United's goalkeeper, David De Gea decided to leave the club this summer to continue his career elsewhere. Despite having offers from Saudi Arabia and Italy, the Spanish player has not yet decided where he will play, but the English side's fans are already calling for his return.

To replace De Gea, Manchester United paid more than $50 million to buy André Onana, making him one of the most expensive goalkeepers of all time. The Cameroonian shone last season at Inter and was key to the Italian club reaching the Champions League final against Manchester City, but his first few games with the Red Devils have not been good.

First he had a quarrel with Harry Maguire, when the defender made a mistake that almost ended in a Borussia Dortmund goal, which provoked Onana's anger. And now, in his first game at Old Trafford, he was targeted by everyone because of an unbelievable situation.

Manchester United were playing a friendly against Lens. Just 20 minutes into the first half, Florian Sotoca spotted the goalkeeper away from goal and shot from the halfway line, making it 1-0 to everyone's astonishment. This provoked the ire of some of the team's fans, who quickly began to ask for a refund of the money they paid for Onana, in addition to requesting the return of De Gea.

They recovered

Despite Lens' unexpected goal, Manchester United reacted and managed to win the match 3-1. Marcus Rashford scored the equaliser at the start of the second half, while Brazilians Antony and Casemiro scored the other goals. In this way, Erik Ten Hag's team is in good shape for the start of the Premier League, which will be on Monday, August 14 against Wolverhampton.
