Manchester United are not having a good season 2023/24. Fans' expectations were very high after the team's good performances last year and now they were hoping to compete with Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal for the Premier League title, something they haven't achieved for 10 years.

But the level of the team and the results obtained were not satisfactory. In the English league they are in sixth place in the standings, far from the leaders. In the Carabao Cup they were eliminated by Newcastle with a resounding 3-0 in the round of 16 and in the Champions League they lost 3 of the 4 matches they played and are in last place in Group A.

And that is not their only problem. According to reports, many players of the squad are unhappy with the decisions of coach Erik Ten Hag, as they consider him responsible for the poor performances of the team and the injuries of many players, as he "overworked" during pre-season.

One of those unhappy with the manager is Raphael Varane. The World Cup winning defender with France in 2018 has lost his place in the team this season, after being for years a key player in the defense. He now seems to be behind Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Johnny Evans, in addition to Lisandro Martinez, who is injured and will not be able to play until 2024.

What will he do?

With this scenario, The Sun reports that Varane has decided to leave Manchester United, although he knows he won't be able to do so until the end of the season. And, although a possible return to Real Madrid is rumored, the defender's intention seems to be different. According to reports, his future could be in Saudi Arabia, as he has received multi-million dollar offers from there, or in Italy, considering it is a league he admires.
