On Sunday, September 3, Arsenal beat Manchester United 3-1 at Emirates Stadium. At the post-match press conference, boss Erik Ten Hag was asked about Jadon Sancho's absence from the squad and his response was that he had decided it based on his performances in training during the week. This provoked the anger of the player, who moments later posted a message on social media saying: "I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue... I've been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair!"

After this scandal, Sancho had the chance to leave for Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia, but negotiations were unsuccessful due to the short time left until the transfer window closed. And then it was rumored that Borussia Dortmund could make an attempt to bring him back in January.

However, Manchester United seem to have a different idea. According to Daily Mail, the club's chiefs have decided to do everything possible to solve the problems between the player and the coach. Reports indicate that Jadon "held discussions with United officials as the club look to draw a line under the public spat".

Football director John Murtough is working hard to resolve the dispute, while CEO Richard Arnold is said to be regularly updated on the progress of those talks. The chiefs' concern is understandable, as they paid more than $90 million for the forward in 2021.

A first step

Jadon Sancho deleted from his social media accounts the post he made on September 3 against Erik Ten Hag. This was welcomed by Manchester United, as it shows their intention to lower the tension and resolve the conflict. Anyway, it is not clear if the coach will forgive him so quickly and include him in the squad for Saturday's match against Brighton & Hove Albion.
