Sergio Aguero is one of the greatest Premier League strikers of all time, and one of his best friends is Lionel Messi, one of the greatest players of all time. Aguero is one of Messi's closest friends and has mentioned many times that he believes that the Inter Miami star is the best in the world but now he admits that a different player deserves the Ballon d'Or this year over anyone. Aguero surprised everyone with his answer as he said, "Ballon d’Or? Viní Jr. didn't disappear in Copa America. It's just that Brazil are going through a tough time and he needs a good team. I look at the whole season, and Viní had an incredible season, this season, he was better than Mbappé. It doesn't mean he's a better player than Mbappé. But this season he was better. For me, Mbappé is much more complete. But this season everytime Vini got the ball in the middle of the pitch, you can feel danger. Mbappé, when a team is in a deep block, it gets hard for him. Vini is a lot more skilled there."

Aguero is from Argentina, and they have a rivalry with Brazil. He showed it by saying he hopes Jude Bellingham can win the award but recognizes that Vinicius Jr. deserves it. Aguero said, "This season, Viní and Bellingham were key for Real Madrid, I love Bellingham & I'd rather he got the Ballon d'Or, but you have to acknowledge that Viní was widely superior this season."

Vinicius Jr. and Brazil were knocked out of the Copa America in the quarterfinals by Uruguay on penalties. Bellingham and England are in the final of the EUROS against Spain, and if they win it, the English midfielder becomes the favorite to win the Ballon d'Or this year.

Vinicius Jr.'s season with Real Madrid

Vinicius Jr. played a total of 39 matches for Real Madrid across all competitions. He scored 24 goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions. He scored 15 goals in La Liga and scored six in the Champions League, with one in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.
