After a very poor EURO, Zidane would be the ideal coach for Mbappé & the France national team

Kylian Mbappé and the French national team are knocked out of the EUROS after losing 2-1 to Spain in the semifinals after 90 minutes. Even though France reached the semifinals, some fans believe that the tournament was disappointing for them, and some even consider it a failure. Didier Deschamps has guided the French team to two consecutive semifinals in a major international tournament. Under Deschamps, France reached the semifinals of a EUROS or a World Cup in four of the last five competitions. France has arguably the best squad in the tournament, and yet people expect more from them, especially after the 2022 World Cup. They only scored one goal from open play in EURO 2024, which was the Randal Kolo Muani goal against Spain. Football fans expect that Zinedine Zidane will be the answer for France to improve, especially with the squad they have. Zidane is familiar with coaching a squad full of world-class players since he has coached Real Madrid on two different occasions and showed that he can win major trophies. It is unknown whether Zidane will be offered the position of the manager of the French national team, but some believe he should be.

The rumors of Zidane taking over the French national team seem to be done quickly as the FFF [French Football Federation] president, Philippe Diallo, confirmed that Didier Deschamps will stay as France's head coach until World Cup 2026. Diallo said, "Deschamps has a contract and he’s achieved the sporting objective that was set for him. Didier will continue his mission." There are mixed feelings about the head coach staying at the French national team because some fans think a change is needed to improve the team, while others think he has the experience to turn things around ahead of the next World Cup.

France reached two World Cup finals in a row with Deschamps, something not achieved in many years. The team was also close to winning two World Cups in a row after the game against Argentina finished 3-3 after extra time but lost 4-2 in a penalty shootout. France continues to produce lots of young talent, and they will be considered one of the favorites to win the upcoming World Cup, which is two years away.
