After Lionel Messi officially announced his intention to become a new player for Inter Miami when his contract with PSG ends on June 30th, it is now Neymar who has expressed his desire to return to Barcelona in this imminent transfer window.
According to Sport, the Brazilian star has informed the Barcelona management that he wishes to return to the Catalan city and end his tenure at PSG, which began when the French club paid Barcelona 222 million EUR in 2017.
Despite Neymar's desire and the fact that PSG is also looking for an exit for him, the negotiation would not be straightforward. The forward's salary and the various conditions that PSG could impose on Barcelona complicate the chances of the transfer materializing.
Although Neymar is said to have given his word to Barcelona that he would not be opposed to reducing his salary to make his wish come true and return to the club where he had his first experience in European football and won the Champions League in the 2014/15 season alongside Lionel Messi.
On the other hand, Barcelona coach Xavi Hernández is clear about the areas he wants to strengthen in the upcoming transfer market. For the Catalan coach, it is a priority to sign a second striker, a midfielder who can replace Sergio Busquets, and a winger, as he does not have Ferrán Torres and Ansu Fati at his disposal.
