Marco Asensio brings an end to his tenure at Real Madrid, confirming the rumors that had been circulating about his departure. After the expiration of his contract, at the club he joined at the age of 20, Real Madrid has officially announced his departure through a statement, expressing their gratitude to a key player in the titles won in recent seasons.
"Real Madrid would like to express its gratitude and affection to Marco Asensio, a player who has defended our badge and our jersey for seven seasons," reads a part of Real Madrid's statement, which also listed the Spanish footballer's achievements.
In his early seasons with Real Madrid, he became a pillar of the team, standing out for his excellent striking ability and establishing himself as a key figure. However, a severe knee injury partly interrupted his progression, making it difficult for him to make a comeback and witnessing other players surpassing him in the rotation.
After failing to reach an agreement on contract renewal, the left winger will have to decide which team will continue his career. According to the latest reports, Asensio already has an agreement with PSG, although there have also been rumors of a possible move to Aston Villa.
During his time with Real Madrid, Asensio achieved everything one could imagine, as he won a total of 17 titles with the club, distributed as follows: 3 Champions League titles, 4 Club World Cups, 3 UEFA Super Cups, 3 La Liga titles, 1 Copa del Rey, and 3 Spanish Super Cups.
