The saga of Kylian Mbappé's potential transfer to Real Madrid seems to have no end in sight. What was initially thought to be a straightforward matter has become complicated and filled with obstacles.
Negotiations began with an offer of 150 million EUR as a starting point. However, Real Madrid is willing to go as high as 200 million EUR, with an additional 20 million in bonuses. However, PSG has other ideas. The French club is demanding 300 million EUR, with 250 million EUR as a fixed fee and an additional 50 million in extras.
Now the decision is in Mbappé's hands. PSG is willing to sell him, and Real Madrid is doing everything possible to secure his signing this summer. But things are not as simple as they seem.
Mbappé has a contract with PSG that guarantees him earning around 150 million EUR in wages and bonuses over the next year. He does not want to lose that sum of money and is pressing to stay for another year at the Parisian club. This would also allow him to receive a massive signing bonus when joining Real Madrid next summer.
In the face of the possibility of losing both payments if he moves to Real Madrid this summer, Mbappé has set a condition for his departure. He will consider leaving PSG if he is paid the 150 million EUR that he is owed for the upcoming season.
