As hours and days go by, the official announcement of Lionel Messi's return to Barcelona has not been made yet, as no offer has been presented. Despite Jorge Messi, the player's father and representative, expressing optimism after meeting with club president Joan Laporta on Monday morning, several issues still need to be resolved.

Messi's intention is to make a decision about his future between this week and the next. His priority, as everyone knows, is to return to Barcelona, not only for football reasons but also for family reasons. Although Xavi Hernández stated that the return "depends on Leo himself," the current reality is quite different.

Messi's return to Barcelona depends on the club presenting him with a formal and detailed offer in the coming hours, something that has not happened yet. The league has already approved the viability plan, which aims to stabilize the club's financial situation through a reduction in the wage bill, but Barcelona still has other priorities to address.

For example, the contract of Gavi, one of the young promises of the team, needs to be renewed, with a release clause of 100 million EUR to be added. However, until Barcelona offloads some high contracts, meaning until a sale is finalized, they won't be able to present an offer to Messi, no matter how much they desire to do so.

Piqué's words

Gerard Piqué spoke about the club's financial situation and stated, "In theory, it was us who caused it because of our salaries (referring to the key players like Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, etc). We all left, and they still can't register. Who else has to leave?".
