Real Madrid and German midfielder Kai Havertz have been at the center of rumors in recent weeks. It appeared that the Chelsea player was close to joining the Spanish club, but the saga is coming to an unexpected end.
Initially, Chelsea valued Havertz at 80 million EUR, but that price has been decreasing over time. Currently, it is estimated to be around 60 million EUR plus incentives, which has caused some reluctance from Real Madrid.
Despite coach Carlo Ancelotti being convinced of the player's talent, the club is not willing to pay such a high amount for a player whose future performance is uncertain.
As long as the price doesn't decrease, negotiations will remain at a standstill. However, given that Chelsea needs to generate income, they are likely to be willing to reduce the requested amount. At that point, Real Madrid could take action and resume talks to sign Havertz.
The German midfielder is considered one of the most promising talents of his generation, and his arrival at Real Madrid would be a significant reinforcement for the team. Although negotiations have not progressed yet, it is possible that new developments will occur in the coming weeks, leading to a beneficial agreement for both parties.
