This summer is shaping up to be filled with departures for Real Madrid. On one hand, Mariano Díaz will leave as his contract is about to expire, and on the other hand, Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard are also likely to depart. There are also rumors suggesting that Karim Benzema is on the verge of leaving.
But that's not all. Real Madrid will also experience a departure in the goalkeeping department. Andriy Lunin, the backup goalkeeper, is reportedly seeking an exit from Real Madrid in search of a club where he can get playing time and become a starter, something he knows is almost impossible at Real Madrid.
While Real Madrid's goal is well protected by Thibaut Courtois, it is necessary for the team to have a reliable backup goalkeeper. Throughout the season, Courtois has missed several matches due to injuries.
That's why Florentino Pérez is already searching for a goalkeeper to fill the void left by Lunin's departure. He has several names in mind, but the primary candidate to join Real Madrid is David Soria, the goalkeeper for Getafe. Getafe is currently fighting to avoid relegation with one match left in the season.
David Soria came through the Real Madrid youth system until the youth level before moving to Atlético Madrid. He later returned to Real Madrid and now, as the goalkeeper for Getafe, he has established himself as the undisputed starter, having played in all 37 league matches for the team.
