Barcelona continues its search for a successor to Sergio Busquets, but the club's financial problems have complicated the arrival of star players. In light of this situation, the Barcelona board is considering other options, and according to SPORT, Florentino Luís and Joao Palhinha are players who have caught their attention.
Both players have contracts until 2027 and were key figures for their respective teams during the 2022/23 season, which makes their signings not an easy task. Fulham, in the case of Palhinha, would not be willing to let him go for less than 50 million EUR. On the other hand, Benfica would be asking for 40 million EUR for Florentino.
Palhinha, 27 years old, has shown great performance at Fulham since his transfer from Sporting CP for 20 million EUR. Last season, he played 40 matches and contributed 4 assists. The Portuguese player has good ball skills and stands out for his ability to recover and initiate quick attacks.
Meanwhile, Florentino Luís has also impressed with his physical strength and ball-winning ability, making him one of the most promising defensive midfielders in Portuguese football. The player, who already has experience in LaLiga from his loan spell at Getafe, played 22 matches in the 2021/22 season.
However, the Barcelona coaching staff has not yet given the green light to any of these operations, as they are still waiting for the necessary departures to be able to make signings of top players, as is the case with Ilkay Gündogan.
