Barcelona has set its sights on Guido Rodríguez, the midfielder from Real Betis, as a real option to strengthen their squad next season and fill the void left by Sergio Busquets in the Barcelona midfield.
According to reports from European journalist Enric Canyellas, the Argentine is considered a Plan B for Barcelona, as their first choice is Rúben Neves, a player from Wolverhampton in the Premier League, with whom they have already had a couple of negotiations.
However, negotiations for Neves have become complicated, leading Barcelona to seriously consider Guido Rodríguez. In the coming days, Joan Laporta, the president of the Catalan club, will intensify the pressure on Betis to secure his signing in case the arrival of Neves does not materialize.
At 29 years old, Guido Rodríguez could give a significant boost to his professional career by making the leap to a club of Barcelona's magnitude. Since his arrival at Betis three years ago from Club América in the Liga MX, he has established himself as one of the best midfielders in LaLiga.
Barcelona's interest in the Argentine is a recognition of his talent and outstanding performance at Betis. His arrival at the culé team would be an important reinforcement to strengthen the midfield and contribute his quality and experience to the game.
