Chelsea is seeking a complete rebuild after their worst season under the ownership of Roman Abramovich. The London club, now managed by the Boehly family, failed to win any titles and finished closer to the relegation zone than the European spots. Aware of the need for changes, they have put their trust in Mauricio Pochettino, who is already making key decisions at the club.
One of Pochettino's first measures has been the departure of Joao Felix, as the Argentine coach does not count on him and prefers a striker more focused on the area. Additionally, he has requested the signing of a defensive midfielder to form a partnership with Enzo Fernández, who is expected to have a prominent role in the team.
According to sources in England, Pochettino is interested in Federico Valverde due to his physical potential and aggressive playing style, characteristics that align with what the team is looking for in that position. Chelsea would be willing to offer up to 100 million euros to Real Madrid for the transfer of the young midfielder.
Chelsea's reconstruction project is underway, and Mauricio Pochettino hopes to have quality reinforcements to bring the team back into title contention. The possible arrival of Federico Valverde would be a significant step in that direction.
Although this season has not been the best for Federico Valverde, the reality is that he is a key piece in Ancelotti's system, making it difficult for Real Madrid to part ways with him. It's worth noting that they rejected all offers that came in for him last summer.
