Liverpool has officially announced the signing of talented Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister in a transfer deal valued at 40 million EUR, with the possibility of additional variables raising the total cost to 60 million EUR.

Mac Allister, who recently won the World Cup in Qatar with Argentina, joins Liverpool from Brighton & Hove Albion, where he has established himself as one of the standout midfielders in the Premier League. The agreement with the Reds secures the presence of the 24-year-old player until June 2028, with a five-year contract.

During the past season, Mac Allister not only became a world champion but also led Brighton to their first-ever European qualification in the club's history and to the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Now, he will make a significant leap by joining the prestigious Liverpool under the guidance of Jürgen Klopp.

Mac Allister has played over a hundred matches in English football, scoring 20 goals as a midfielder, an impressive tally. He has also represented the Argentina National Team on 16 occasions, including his participation in six matches during the World Cup, where he scored a goal and provided an assist in the final against France.

He will fit in well here

The arrival of the Argentine midfielder will further strengthen Liverpool's midfield, which already boasts standout players like Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago Alcántara, and Curtis Jones. This signing coincides with the departures of Naby Keita, whose performance fell short of expectations, Arthur Melo, who faced difficulties due to injuries, and James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
