The Norwegian Martin Odegaard went from being one of the great promises of Real Madrid to fully establishing himself with Mikel Arteta's Arsenal, one of the clubs fighting for the title in the Premier League, along with Manchester City, Liverpool and even Aston Villa.

Odegaard made history with the Gunners by playing his 100th game with the Arsenal shirt in the English league, and he does so as the engine of the Londoners' attack, which has even raised its hand in the Champions League.

Since his arrival in England in the summer of 2020, Odegaard has scored a total of 31 goals in all competitions with the Gunners team shirt, in addition to 18 assists. On January 22, 2015, at just 16 years of age, he signed as a new Real Madrid player, joining Castilla, led by Frenchman Zinedine Zidane. His great performances led him to make his debut with the first team of the whites team.

On May 23 of that same year, he made his official debut with Real Madrid when he came on as a substitute in place of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, during the last game of the season, in which the merengues won 7-3 against Getafe. He was the youngest player to debut when he did so at 16 years and 157 days.

The promise that did not explode in Madrid

Despite this, Odegaard could not establish himself at Real Madrid and had to go on loan to several clubs, including Heerenven and Vitesse, from the Eredivisie, and Real Sociedad in Spain. With Madrid, he was barely able to play eight games, a situation that led him to leave the club in search of minutes. Today, Odegaard is the captain of the Arsenal team, which is seeking its first Premier title since 2004.
