Since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as coach, Tottenham have changed their style of play. They no longer have defensive solidity as a priority, something that was the case with previous managers like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, but now give more importance to ball handling and attacking. That has delighted the fans, who week after week enjoy the team.
However, the results have not been as good as they expected. In the Premier League they were leaders for a few weeks, but then they struggled to keep up and were overtaken by Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester City. One of the reasons for this drop in performance were injuries to important players such as Cristian Romero, Micky Van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentancur and James Maddison.
Now Spurs will have the opportunity to start their journey in the FA Cup, England's second most important tournament. For the round of 64, they will face Burnley, one of the weakest teams in the Premier League. That's why the responsibility will be on Postecoglou's team, who will do their best to get a victory.
The coach decided that Tottenham's starting lineup will be: Guglielmo Vicario; Pedro Porro, Emerson Royal, Ben Davies, Destiny Udogie; Oliver Skipp, Rodrigo Bentancur, Giovani Lo Celso; Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison, Brennan Johnson. In addition, the substitutes will be Fraser Forster, Ashley Phillips, Alfie Dorrington, Micky Van de Ven, Sessegnon, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Jammie Donley, Bryan Gil Salvatierra and Scarlett.
Burnley have not had a good start to the season. During the last half of 2023 they were one of the worst teams in Premier League, with only 3 wins in 20 games. That's why they are in relegation zone, 5 points behind Everton, who are out for now. But now they will have the chance to start a new tournament and that is why coach Vincent Kompany chose this XI: Arijanet Muric; Dara OShea, Charlie Taylor, Lyle Foster, Anass Zaroury, Aaron Ramsey, Vitinho, Josh Cullen, Zeki Amdouni, Hannes Delcroix, Wilson Odobert.
