This Friday began with unexpected news in England. Jurgen Klopp announced through a video shared on social media that he will step down as Liverpool coach once the 2023/24 season ends. The explanation he gave is that he no longer has the energy to plan a new year and that the best thing is for him to finish his successful stint at the club after 9 years.

World impact, Klopp announces he's leaving Liverpool and this is the real reason
That means that this semester will be Klopp's last with The Reds. That's why they will do their best to win all the titles of the season. In fact, they are the only English team that are competing in four tournaments simultaneously: they are leaders of the Premier League, they are in the final of the Carabao Cup (where they will face Chelsea in February), this weekend they will play against Norwich City for the round of 32 of the FA Cup and they are qualified for the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League.
The news came as an unexpected blow to the fans, who admire and respect the German manager for the success he has brought them over the last decade. But they are not the only ones surprised. Many stars, former players and coaches have expressed their opinion on this issue as well.
Jamie Carragher, former Liverpool defender and current TV commentator said: "This news was always going to be a body blow to the club whenever it came. I just thought it would be another few years away. What a manager, what a man, let's go out with a bang Jurgen!". England legend Gary Lineker commented: "Wow. Huge news. What an incredible job he's done". And coach Thomas Tuchel, his successor at Borussia Dortmund and current Bayern Munich coach said: "I have to digest that first. Kloppo is one of the very best coaches in the world, he has always managed to influence the clubs where he worked. It's big news".
