Lionel Messi is one of the greatest players of all time. Since his debut at Barcelona in 2004 he has won the admiration of fans thanks to his talent and hard work, which allowed him to win four Champions League titles and countless Spanish leagues, as well as the Copa America and the World Cup with the Argentine national team. Individually he has also been very successful: no other player has been voted the best in the world so many times. France Football magazine awarded him the Ballon d'Or eight times, while FIFA chose him three times as the winner of The Best award.

With the Carabao Cup final just days away, Chelsea and Liverpool's main concern
In addition to his sporting success, Leo is also respected for his conduct off the field. Most of the players and coaches who have faced him highlight his humility and simplicity. He has rarely had conflicts, but one of them was with Jamie Carragher. The former Liverpool defender had been critical of the Argentine forward, as well as Neymar and Kylian Mbappé when the three played at PSG, and Messi responded with a message on Instagram calling him a "burro" (donkey, in Spanish).
At the time Carragher took it with a laugh and things didn't get any worse. But now he has once again had harsh words for a South American star: Thiago Silva. The Brazilian defender was absent from last Saturday's game between Chelsea and Manchester City and his place was taken by Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill. They performed well and that prompted the Liverpool legend to give an opinion on the subject.
"I think looking at those two in a partnership and maybe another young centre-back in the squad, the days of Thiago Silva playing at Chelsea have got to come to an end," Jamie said on Sky Sports. He added: "He has been brilliant for Chelsea since he's come in. But I think with his age, his contract's up at the end of the season and when you see those two players in together..."

Thiago Silva is reported to have a chance of recovering in time to play in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool next Sunday at Wembley Stadium. In that case Mauricio Pochettino will have to make a difficult decision: whether to include him in the starting lineup or keep Disasi and Colwill, who have been performing well lately.
