Manchester United have had a lot of problems this season. The team's performances were disappointing and the results even more so, which prevented them from competing with the best teams in Europe in the Champions League and from being close to the top of the Premier League. Erik Ten Hag was heavily criticized by the press and fans for these failures, but he gave an explanation that seems more and more reasonable: injuries were the deciding factor.

Throughout the season they have dealt with physical problems of key players at crucial moments. Stars such as Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Mason Mount were often unable to play for the last few months, while others have been out for shorter periods of time. Raphael Varane, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire are just some of the stars who have struggled.

And now joined by who was probably the best player of the team during the last few games: Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish striker had a slow start with Manchester United, but that ended a few weeks ago, when he netted his first goal in the Premier League against Aston Villa. Since then everything changed and he broke the record of the youngest player to score goals in six consecutive English league games.

Now Rasmus suffered a muscle problem and will be out of action for a few games. The bad news was confirmed by Ten Hag, who at a press conference said: "It's a small injury, two to three weeks, that's what happened, that is the risk playing high intensity, training. It's not a big injury but he has to wait now for two-three weeks."

Good news for The Citizens

Rasmus Hojlund will miss several important games in the coming weeks. He will not be in the FA Cup round of 16 vs Nottingham Forest on February 28, nor in the derby against Manchester City on March 3 at Etihad Stadium. That will be a relief for Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland, who will not have to worry about neutralizing one of the best players in the Premier League right now.
