Erling Haaland arrived at Manchester City in the summer of 2022 and quickly became the team's biggest star. With 52 goals in 53 games, he led the Citizens to Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League titles in his first season, something they had never achieved in their history. And those performances continued at the start of the current season, where he is the top scorer in the English league alongside Mohamed Salah.

All this made the Norwegian striker one of the best players in the world and allowed him to be chosen among the finalists for the Ballon d'Or 2023. There he competed with other top stars such as his teammates Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Rodri and Julian Alvarez, as well as Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior and Inter Miami's Lionel Messi.

The latter took the top prize, mainly thanks to his excellent performances with the Argentina national team during the Qatar 2022 World Cup. This will surely have been a disappointment for Erling, who had a fantastic season in which he scored many goals and won many titles, but it was not enough to win the award.

However, that was not the worst thing that happened to him during the ceremony. Now, more than two months after that event in Paris, a video was shared in which he is seen in a very uncomfortable situation. A fan filmed himself with a cell phone next to the Norwegian striker, while repeating "Haaland, Haaland" over and over again. Erling, with an unfriendly face, just said to him, "What are you doing, man?". And a few seconds later the video ends without being able to see what else happened.

He will have other opportunities

Despite losing the Ballon d'Or 2023, Erling Haaland will be a favorite to win it in the coming years. With Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo nearing the end of their professional careers, it will be time for young stars like the Norwegian striker, Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham.
