His season with Barcelona earned him a call-up to the national team for the EUROS 2024, and not only is he playing, but he is also starting matches. Yamal started in the game against Croatia and Italy. He even grabbed an assist in the 3-0 win against Croatia as he sent a cross in the box to Dani Carvajal, which led to him becoming the youngest player to to assist in the Euros. Starting the match against Croatia made him the youngest player to ever appear in the EUROS at 16 years and 338 days. With all these achievements, FC Barcelona plans to reward him next season as they are considering the possibility of giving Lamine Yamal the #10 shirt for next season. One factor is due to marketing reasons and the timing, which would be the club’s 125th Anniversary. Some fans want to see it, while others think it's too much pressure for him.
