Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr will soon be together again as the preseason for the Saudi Pro League team is arriving. The Portuguese striker has just been knocked out from EURO 2024 with the Portuguese national team after drawing 0-0 against France and losing 5-3 on penalties in the quarterfinals. Ronaldo is currently on vacation with his family, but he may receive good and bad news within a few weeks in terms of the squad ahead of next season. Two key players at Al Nassr who may leave for a rival club in Saudi Arabia are Sadio Mane and Talisca. The two players have been rumored these past couple of months to leave the club, as many other teams are interested in them. Al Ittihad is one of the teams that want to sign both players and in exchange, Ronaldo may reunite with Karim Benzema in order to complete a swap deal. Ronaldo and his fans will welcome this move since Benzema and the Portuguese striker have been together at Real Madrid for many years, winning trophies and scoring lots of goals together. The French star joined Al Ittihad last summer and he has been rumored for a while that he has been looking for an exit since the winter transfer window.
Benzema joined Al Ittihad on July 1st as a free agent after his contract with Real Madrid expired on June 30, 2023. The French striker is 36 years old and will turn 37 in December. The French striker played a total of 29 games with Al Ittihad across all competitions, including the Saudi Pro League, the AFC Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the Saudi Super Cup, and the King's Cup. He scored a total of 13 goals and provided eights assist across all of these competitions. Benzema scored in each competition with Al Ittihad, except in the AFC Champions League.
Benzema played a total of 342 matches with Ronaldo at Real Madrid. The two combined for 76 goals at Los Blancos across all competitions and formed an imposing trio of the two next to Gareth Bale. Benzema and Ronaldo won four Champions League trophies together, and three of them were in a row under Zinedine Zidane. Together, they played more than 22,300 minutes at Real Madrid, and their friendship is still strong, as they embraced it before an Al Nassr vs Al Ittiahd match.
Benzema normally plays as the striker for Al Ittihad, while Cristiano Ronaldo is the main striker at Al Nassr. Benzema and Ronaldo may play up top as the two strikers of the team, with the French star dropping a bit behind Ronaldo to create chances to build up with the midfielders to then send a ball for the Portuguese striker. Al Nassr wants to win the Saudi Pro League after losing out to it against Al Hilal, who is the strongest team in Saudi Arabia. Al Nassr is expected to make big signings apart from Benzema, like Ederson from Man City.
