The Premier League 2023/24 is unpredictable. Week after week, unexpected results change the top of the table and no one can be sure what will happen in the short term. Lately, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham and Aston Villa have been leaders of the tournament, but none of them could hold long enough.

Right now the first place in the standings is shared by Aston Villa and Liverpool, with 42 points. The Villans got there after beating Burnley 3-2 on Saturday, but the Reds have an advantage: they have played one game less and depend on themselves to get the upper hand over their rivals; if they beat Newcastle on Monday, they will be the only leaders with 45 points.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have the chance to overtake them and reach, at least for 24 hours, the top of the league. This Sunday they will visit Fulham at Craven Cottage, knowing that a victory will allow them to reach 43 points and leave behind not only Liverpool and Aston Villa, but also Manchester City.

For this match, coach Mikel Arteta decided to include most of the squad's stars in the starting lineup. Arsenal's XI will be: David Raya; Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jakub Kiwior; Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, Kai Havertz; Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Martinelli. Also on the bench will be Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Cedric Soares, Mohamed Elneny, Emile Smith-Rowe, Jorginho, Leandro Trossard, Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Jesus.

The Cottagers also need to win

Fulham have not had a good start to the 2023/24 season and that is why they are in 14th place in the standings with 21 points, just 6 points away from the relegation zone. For that reason they need a win that will allow them to move away from there. Coach Marco Silva chose this XI: Bernd Leno; Timothy Castagne, Tosin Adarabioyo, Calvin Ughelumba, Antonee Robinson; Joao Palhinha, Tom Cairney, Bobby Reid, Alex Iwobi, Willian; Raul Jimenez.
