This week Inter Miami started their tour in Asia. On Monday they faced Al-Hilal for the first match of the Riyadh Season Cup and there they put on a great show: the Saudi Arabian team won 4-3 with a last minute goal, after Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez scored their first goals of the year for The Herons.

Breaking news, the coach who made Messi's debut could be returning to Barcelona
However, that match was just the beginning. The most anticipated moment of Inter Miami's tour of Asia was to come this Thursday, when they took on Al-Nassr. This game had enormous appeal as perhaps the last duel between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as professional players. They have been the kings of soccer for the last two decades and have starred in unforgettable matches when Leo shone for Barcelona and CR7 for Real Madrid, but now that they play on different continents they don't usually face each other and so this was a unique opportunity.
But something unexpected happened last week: the Portuguese striker suffered an injury that prevented him from participating in a friendly match in China and, although he tried to recover in time to play this Thursday, he was unable to do so. Al-Nassr coach Luis Castro confirmed at a press conference: "We will not see (Messi vs Ronaldo), Ronaldo is in the final part of his recovery to join the group. We hope that in the next few days he can start working with the team. He will be absent from the game."
This was a bitter blow for fans around the world, who had hoped to see the two stars once again on the field. However, it will still be a very interesting match, considering that Al-Nassr have other top players such as Aymeric Laporte, Sadio Mane and Marcelo Brozovic, who will be competing against Messi, Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

While this was an ideal chance to see Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo together on the field, there may be other opportunities in the future. This could happen, for example, at the Club World Cup, if Inter Miami and Al-Nassr qualify. Or with the Argentina and Portugal national teams, either in a friendly match or in an official competition.
