Kylian Mbappé is only 25 years old and already one of the most important players of this century. He has wowed fans around the world with his performances since his debut at AS Monaco in 2015, and since his arrival at Paris Saint-Germain he has become a top star. In fact, in his professional career he has impressive statistics: he has scored 264 goals and provided 117 assists in 354 games.

Moreover, at a very young age he earned a place in the France national team and was a key part of the team that won the 2018 World Cup in Russia. And four years later he shone again in soccer's most important tournament, leading the team to the Qatar 2022 final, in which they lost by penalty shoot-outs against Argentina, even though 'Kiki' scored three goals in that memorable final.

Not satisfied with those achievements, Mbappé now has two goals for 2024: the Euro in Germany and the Olympic Games. The latter will be a special tournament, as it will be held in Paris, his hometown and where he has played since 2017 with Paris Saint-Germain. While clubs are not obliged by FIFA to allow players to participate in the Olympics, Kylian's desire to take part in the tournament will be decisive for him to be there. And he will not be the only one.

Olympic rules state that soccer teams must have U-23 players, but there are exceptions: each country can take three senior players. One of them will be Mbappé and, according to TyC Sports, the other stars chosen by coach Thierry Henry are Atlético Madrid's Antoine Griezmann and Manchester United's Raphael Varane. Both were teammates of 'Kiki' in the last two World Cups.

The likely XI

Should France manage to get all clubs to loan players, the starting lineup for the team at the Olympics could be: Lucas Chevalier; Malo Gusto, Raphael Varane, William Salida, Adrien Truffert; Warren Zaire-Emery, Eduardo Camavinga, Antoine Griezmann; Michael Olise, Elye Wahi, Kylian Mbappé.
