Real Madrid are looking for a top striker. They lost Karim Benzema last summer, when he surprisingly decided to leave for Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia in exchange for a multi-million salary. For this season Los Merengues decided not to spend a fortune on a replacement and only Joselu arrived on loan from Espanyol.
But president Florentino Perez and coach Carlo Ancelotti know that to compete with the best teams in Europe they will need a quality striker. That is why they have targeted Kylian Mbappé, whose contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires on June 30.
However, negotiations are not easy and no one is sure what will happen with 'Kiki' next season. In case of failure, the Spanish club have a plan B: Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker shines in Manchester City since 2022 and with only 23 years old he has already become one of the best players in the world.
Although he has a contract with the English side until June 30, 2027, there is a secret clause that could make things easier for Real Madrid. According to AS, the Citizens tried to protect themselves from a possible exit of Haaland to another Premier League club and that is why they established an exit clause of almost $220 million. But if those interested in signing him are clubs from other countries, his value is half, that is, $110 million. That is an amount that Los Merengues can afford to pay since, in fact, it is almost the same amount that Jude Bellingham cost this summer.
Next season Real Madrid will have a revamped attack. To the players who are already in the squad now, like Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes and Brahim Diaz, will probably be added Mbappé or Haaland. In addition, Endrick, the young Brazilian star they bought from Palmeiras, will also arrive.
