Kylian Mbappé finally made a decision. After months of rumors, secrets and speculation, he met last week with the owner of Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, and announced his decision to leave the French side after the end of the season. And that's not all. This Monday, Marca newspaper confirmed that the striker has already signed an agreement with Real Madrid to join as a free agent as of July 1.

That means Los Merengues will finally fulfill their dream of having 'Kiki' as their main star, forming a dream attacking quartet with Jude Bellingham as attacking midfielder, Rodrygo Goes as right-winger, Vinicius Junior as left-winger and Kylian Mbappé as centre-forward. No other team in the world will have players of that level, so they will be the main favorites to win the Champions League title.
Unlike what happened in 2022, when he had everything agreed with Real Madrid and at the last minute changed his mind and stayed at PSG, this time 'Kiki' did not prioritize money, but the sporting challenge of playing for the Spanish side. Although in La Casa Blanca he will earn a fortune, it will be a much lower amount than what he could have received in France if he accepted the renewal offer.
According to Marca, during the last season at Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappé was expected to earn more than $227 million gross, considering his salary ($77 million), renewal bonus ($64 million) and loyalty bonus ($86 million). At Real Madrid those figures will be much lower, as the club have a salary cap of between $16 million and $21 million net to avoid conflicts between the stars of the squad. To that will be added a series of bonuses and extras for goals achieved that will reach $50 million net per season, that is, half of what he received at PSG.

While he will earn less money at Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé's agents are confident that marketing and image rights revenues will be higher at the Spanish side, which would help make up the difference. But that is not the main concern of the striker, who made the decision to join Los Merengues to compete for the most important soccer titles and the most prestigious individual awards.
