The knockout stages will need a winner, and after 90 minutes, the game going into extra time would mean that Yamal will not be able to play due to a rule in Germany prohibiting people younger than 18 from working past 23:00. The match between Spain and Georgia begins at 21:00 Gemrany time and after 90 minutes played, it would end before 23:00. If it goes to extra time and perhaps penalties, it would be a big issue for Yamal to play then.

The head coach of the Spanish national team, Luis de la Fuente, was asked about this situation with Lamine Yamal, which could cost the national team a lot of money for playing the FC Barcelona youngster during extra time or even penalties.
