Real Madrid has not stopped looking for new players ahead of next season as they want to build a young squad that could take over Europe for the next decade. Real Madrid won the Champions League this past season, and now they want to go back-to-back next season with the signing of Kylian Mbappé. The attack was transformed into a young stock frontline, but now the Spanish club is looking to change the backline as well. The Spanish champions have been interested in signing Lille's defender, Leny Yoro. The club sees the French defender as the next Sergio Ramos after a promising season with Lille. Although there is interest from other clubs in the top five leagues in Europe, Yoro hopes that Real Madrid will sign him ahead of other clubs. MARCA reports that Real Madrid has reached an agreement with Leny Yoro to let him join this summer. Fabrizio Romano reports that Yoro informed his agents months ago that his desire is Real Madrid.

MARCA reports that Real Madrid is confident that with Leny Yoro's firm decision to play for the club, Lille will be forced to accept offers of $35 million to $40 million. Yoro is valued at over $50 million, according to Transfermarkt, and his contract with Lille expires in the summer of 2025. Yoro is very interested in joining Real Madrid, and he could potentially refuse to extend his contract in order for the Spanish club to sign him as a free agent next summer, as they did with Kylian Mbappé.

Yoro played a total of 44 matches for Lille in the 2023/2024 season across all competitions. He played in Ligue 1, the UEFA Europa Conference League, the Coupe De France, and the UECL qualifiers. In those matches, he scored three in total across all competitions. The tall center-back played over 3,600 minutes and only was given five yellow cards throughout the season.

The Real Madrid player who will be out as Leny Yoro comes in

Real Madrid might have to sign Leny Yoro this summer, especially if their captain, Nacho Fernandez, leaves this summer. The Spanish defender did not sign a contract extension with Real Madrid and his contract expires on June 30th, which is ten days away. The club has been waiting for Nacho's decision on his future, and Real Madrid is willing to extend his contract. The defender is the one who has halted the discussion since he is intrigued by playing abroad for the first time in his career.

Nacho is linked to a move to Saudi Arabia with a huge salary increase. Nacho was unhappy with the lack of minutes during the season, and despite being the captain, his manager, Carlo Ancelotti, preferred that the defender come off from the bench instead of starting ahead of Antonio Rudiger and Eder Militao.
