Last week fans around the world were shocked by the confirmation that Kylian Mbappé will leave Paris Saint-Germain after the end of the current season. He met with the club's owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, and informed him of his decision to become a free agent as of July 1. That will allow him to negotiate with any other team and agree his arrival without the need to pay even one cent to the French side.

Laporta's aggressive words to a Barcelona fan who asked him to sign Mbappé

Now the questions are on the fate of 'Kiki', who was targeted by some Premier League teams like Arsenal and Liverpool, but apparently has Real Madrid as a priority. The Merengues have been interested in him for years, and were even very close to signing him in 2022, but failed at the last minute. Now things have changed and everything indicates that this time they will succeed.

Meanwhile, PSG must start looking for a replacement for Mbappé. While they have many top forwards in the squad such as Ousmane Dembélé, Marco Asensio, Randal Kolo Muani, Goncalo Ramos and Bradley Barcola, next season they will need to shake up the market with the arrival of a new star who can take on the responsibility of leading the team.

And, apparently, that star is in the Premier League. According to The Times, PSG sporting director Luis Campos believes the ideal replacement for Mbappé is Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United forward has similar characteristics to Kylian and could be the ideal piece for the team's attack, if he can recover and show his best level again. Lately his performances with The Red Devils have been disappoonting and he's been also involved in some scandals off the field.

How much is he worth?

The Times claims that Paris Saint-Germain will now have $215 million available to sign a player to replace Mbappé, considering the wages and bonuses they will no longer pay to 'Kiki'. That amount should be enough to sign Marcus Rashford, who at Manchester United has a salary of almost $20 million per year. According to Transfermarkt, he is worth $75 million.
