Many footballers look up to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi because of their hunger to compete and their mentality to still play at an age where most footballers are retired. One of the players that look up to both Messi and Ronaldo is Neymar Jr. The Brazilian star played in the peak era of Messi and Ronaldo in Spain, and he was involved in the Ballon d'Or panel with the two greats of football. Over the years, Neymar never won the prestigious award as he constantly was injured and didn't shine as he hoped for at PSG. Now, with Neymar's new injury, he explains that he has the mentality of Messi and Ronaldo as he focused on that during his time injured. Neymar said, "These months have been really tough. It's not an easy injury where you have surgery, you recover and you're done. It's more about the mental aspect than anything else. I had to prepare myself a lot mentally to continue playing with will and desire."
