Kylian Mbappé and the French national team are set to play in the Round of 16 tomorrow against Belgium. Mbappé is very motivated to win this competition since he had never won it before and was eliminated at this stage of the competition in the 2020 EUROS, with Mbappé missing the decisive penalty to keep them out of the tournament. The challenge he is facing in this EUROS is the mask he needs to wear to protect the broken nose he suffered in their first match of the competition. Mbappé talks ahead of the match against Belgium and reveals that the mask is indeed a challenge for him. Mbappé said, "Playing with a mask is an absolute horror. As soon as I can take it off, I will take it off. It's boring." Mbappé is required to wear it for the rest of the tournament as he did not undergo surgery for the broken nose; he plans to get the surgery after the competition comes to an end as he is set to play for Real Madrid next season.

Mbappé spoke about the nose injury he suffered in his first match of EURO 2024. Mbappé said, "My nose injury? I didn’t think much of it back at the time. I didn’t feel that my nose was broken. It was when I saw the look on the GK’s face that I realized something was not good. I saw myself in the mirror and I think it was a bad idea.”

Mbappé made a statement that made opposition players like Belgium notice that his nose was indeed damaged and nothing worse could have happened. The French star said, "If it’s going to take someone touching my nose to advance to the quarter finals, it’s already broken, it’s not going to break any more.”

Where will France vs Belgium take place?

France will play against Belgium tomorrow at the Dusseldorf Arena. This will not be a nice stadium to visit for Mbappé since he broke his nose in this stadium against Austria. Mbappé and France will mostly care more about the result of that game as they won 1-0.
