Despite the close relationship, many neutral fans make fun of De Paul for being too close to Messi on the pitch, and one South American player was not afraid to express this feeling. Uruguay midfielder Manuel Ugarte made fun of De Paul and Messi in a World Cup qualifiers match recently, but besides that, he is one of the best midfielders in the Copa America. Due to his performances with Uruguay so far in the Copa America, Manchester United has become interested in signing the player. Fabrizio Romano reported that Manchester United and PSG have been in touch again for Manuel Ugarte recently. Ugarte also has interest from other clubs. PSG is open to selling him this summer, and he’s expected to leave.

Ugarte is open to joining Manchester United even without them getting Champions League football next season. There is still no bid from Man United to PSG for the Uruguayan midfielder. He joined PSG last summer from Sporting CP for more than $60 million. He started his career at PSG brightly, but then he stopped getting minutes under Luis Enrique.

Ugarte played a total of 37 matches for PSG across all competitions. He has not scored a goal for the French club yet, but he did provide three assists. He played a total of 25 Ligue 1 matches for PSG and played eight UEFA Champions League matches.

Manuel Ugarte in the Copa America
