Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have starred in one of the greatest rivalries in the history of soccer. For almost two decades they were the kings of the world sport and competed to be considered the best of their generation and, perhaps, of all time. Some prefer the power of the Portuguese striker and others the talent of the Argentine player, but both have merited to reach the top.

Although they have faced each other in memorable matches, especially between Barcelona and Real Madrid, the relationship between the two has always been friendly. Both on and off the field they have shown mutual respect for each other and have never been involved in scandals. But during the last weeks CR7 has had unexpected behaviors.

Some time ago a video was shared on social media in which an Al-Hilal fan was seen throwing him a blue scarf of his team; Cristiano took it, kept it inside his shorts and then gave it back to him. And now he was responsible for another controversial situation, this time involving Messi.

This weekend Al-Nassr faced Al Shabab in the Pro League. There, at several points during the match, rival fans booed Ronaldo and chanted "Messi, Messi" at him, trying to provoke him to get him angry. And apparently they succeeded, because after the goal scored by Anderson Talisca, CR7 celebrated by shaking his arm near his groin, in a gesture that for some was obscene and disrespectful.

What will happen to him?

According to Asharq Al Awsat newspaper, the Pro League Disciplinary Committee has launched an investigation in order to fully understand what happened. And Al-Shabab chiefs have also filed a complaint with the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee. If the Portuguese striker is found guilty, he could be punished and that would be bad news for Al-Nassr, just as the decisive stage of the Pro League is approaching.
