This Saturday Chelsea had a great opportunity in the Premier League. They faced one of the weakest teams in the competition, Luton Town, at Kenilworth Road and they knew that with a win they could get closer to the qualification places for international competitions. But for that they had to show a good performance, something they had not been able to do lately away from Stamford Bridge.

Things started perfectly for them, as Cole Palmer scored the opener 12 minutes into the first half with a left-footed shot that made goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski's reaction impossible. And the Blues doubled the lead on 37 minutes through Noni Madueke, who made a great individual move inside the box that ended with a stunning shot.

After the break, the visitors continued to dominate the match and netted the third goal thanks to a genius move by Cole Palmer. The English winger received an assist from Moises Caicedo, entered the box and, when the rival goalkeeper tried to steal the ball from him, he subtly dribbled him. Then a defender tried to block his shot, but Cole also fooled him and finally scored with an empty net.

With the game 3-0 and only 20 minutes to go, it looked like the game was over. However, Luton Town reacted and in the last minutes scored two goals through Elijah Adebayo and Ross Barkley to give the fans hope. But they had no time to get the leveller.

What's next for The Blues?

With the win against Luton Town, Chelsea have 28 points and are in tenth place in the Premier League standings. But now they are very close to the qualification places to international tournaments: Manchester United are the last ones there, with 31 points. The next match for them will be next Saturday against Preston North End, for the FA Cup round of 32.
