Another Messi show: Inter Miami visit Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS

After having started the 2024 season in a perfect way, Inter Miami will have this Sunday their second challenge in Major League Soccer. Last Wednesday they debuted in the tournament with a 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake at DRV PNK Stadium in Miami thanks to goals from Robert Taylor and Diego Gomez, and as a result they are at the top of the Eastern Conference standings with three points along with other teams.

But this Sunday they will have the opportunity to be the sole leaders if they can get a win against Los Angeles Galaxy at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. For the Herons, it will be the first official away game of the year, while their opponents will be making their season debut and will have the advantage of more rest time.

Coach Gerardo Martino was very satisfied with the team's performance during the match against Real Salt Lake and for that reason he will probably repeat the same eleven players who started that game. Among them, obviously, will be Lionel Messi, who is now fully recovered from his muscle injury and last Wednesday played all 90 minutes at the DRV PNK Stadium.

Inter Miami's probable starting lineup is: Drake Callender; De Andre Yedlin, Tomas Aviles, Sergei Kryvstov, Jordi Alba; Julian Gressel, Sergio Busquets, Diego Gomez; Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Robert Taylor.

It will be a huge challenge for the Los Angeles Galaxy to start the 2024 season facing the most popular team in Major League Soccer, but they will have the advantage of having the support of their fans. The starting lineup will feature a former teammate of Lionel Messi's at Barcelona, attacking midfielder Riqui Puig. Coach Greg Vanney decided that the starting XI will be: John McCarthy; Miki Yamane, Maya Yoshida, Eriq Zavaleta, Julian Aude; Gaston Brugman, Mark Delgado, Riqui Puig; Jonathan Perez, Dejan Joveljic, Diego Fagundez.
