Barcelona qualified for the round of 16 of the Champions League this Tuesday, after the 2-1 victory against Porto at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium in Montjuic. They will also probably get the first place in group H, since on December 13 they will face the weakest team, Royal Antwerp, and a draw will be enough for them to prevent their rivals to catch them.

However, this does not mean that things have been easy for Los Blaugranas. They had to work hard in most of the games to get the three points. In fact, they lost to Shakhtar Donetsk just a couple of weeks ago in Germany. And this Tuesday they started losing against Porto due to Pepe's goal, although later Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix made the comeback possible.

With the calm of knowing that they had qualified for the round of 16, Xavi Hernández gave a press conference after the match in which he analyzed the team's performance. One of the journalists asked him which team he would prefer to avoid in the knockout stages of the Champions League and the coach's answer surprised everyone.

Xavi did not mention Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich or another of Europe's giants, but rather the rivals they had faced just a few minutes before. "To meet Porto again, I wouldn't like it if we went to the quarterfinals. They are very tough, very strong rivals. Today we have beaten a very important rival," said the manager.

Who are their possible rivals?

With qualification to the round of 16 assured, Barcelona now only need to know if they will be first or second in group H. The most likely option is that they will finish at the top of the standings. In that case, in the next phase of the Champions League they will avoid European giants who also won first place in their respective groups, such as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester City.
